Most People Tagged in an Online Photo - Orange sets world record

 GLASTONBURY, Somerset, UK-- Thirty six ultra hi-res photos taken with two Hasselblad cameras at this year's Glastonbury Festival were stitched together to create a 1.3-gigapixel image which had been tagged, via Facebook, by over 8,000 people - setting the new world record for the Most People Tagged in an Online Photo .

 People are tagged in a photo when their picture is linked to their name and Facebook account.

   Taken during halftime in the England - Slovenia World Cup match, the photo is estimated to have about 70,000 people in it.

   The panoramic image was taken with two Hasselblad H4D-50 Cameras mounted one on top of the other and rotated at 10 degree increments to take in the entire crowd, going back 350 metres.

   Andrew Pearcey, Head of Brand Partnerships at Orange said: 'We are delighted that together with over 7,000 festival goers and counting, we've been able to set a new World Record. "

   The photo was also recognized (few weeks earlier) as a Guinness World Record for most people tagged in a photo, 7,000 .

    Guinness World Records also recognized the world's largest photo mosaic which was created in Shanghai, China, when 105,196 individual baby photos were combined to create a mosaic that measured 660.525 m² (7109.8 ft²).
