 Tallest stack of pancakes: Food Network UK sets world record

LONDON, UK -- Staff from TV show Food Network UK spent the weekend cooking, flipping and stacking a whopping 725 pancakes to reach a 32-inch height tower - setting the new world record for Tallest stack of pancakes .

Some 253 eggs, 11lbs of flour and more than 26 pints of milk went into the World's Tallest Stack of Pancakes , which took the team 13 hours to make.

  The previous Guinness world record for the tallest free-standing stack of pancakes, consisting of 672 pancakes, measured 74 cm (2 ft 5 in) and was made by Krunoslav Budiselic (Croatia) at Hotel Toplice, Terme Catez, Slovenia.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for Most people tossing pancakes: 405, achieved by Bram Zwiers in Almere, Netherlands.

  Nick Thorogood, managing director of the entertainment channel, said: 'One of the greatest aspects of British Food is its tradition and the celebration of events such as Pancake Day.

  'We wanted to celebrate this year's Pancake Day with something a little different and what better way than to create a giant stack of pancakes!'
