  Largest chocolate bar: Chicago company breaks Guinness world record

CHICAGO, IL, USA -- Chicago-based company 'The World's Finest Chocolate' unveiled a giant chocolate bar, weighing in at an incredible 12,290 pounds (5.5 tonnes) and measuring 3-feet high and 21-feet long (six meters), which sets the new world record for the Largest chocolate bar, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The previous Guinness world record for the largest chocolate bar weighed 4,410 kg (9,722.39 lb) and was made by Armenian-Canadian JV " Grand Candy " Co Ltd, in Yerevan, Armenia.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest chocolate bar: it measured 13.15 m (43 ft 1.7 in) long and 1.2 m (3 ft 11.2 in) wide and was achieved during an event organised by Filippo Lazzarin (Italy).

   The World's Largest Chocolate Bar contains "1,200 pounds of almonds, 5,500 pounds of sugar, 2,000 pounds of milk powder, 1,700 pounds of cocoa butter and 1,400 pounds of chocolate liquor."

  The Longest chocolate bar in the world has surpassed the previous Guinness World Record for largest chocolate bar.

  Oldies 1061 Radio reported the Grand Candy Factory in Armenia produced a five tonne bar that held the Guinness World Record until the World's Finest Chocolate came along and smashed it.

   World's Finest Chocolate created the bar as part of a campaign called 'Think Big Eat Smart' which is aimed at teaching American school children about proportionate eating.
