The Guinness world record for the most lights lit simultaneously on a Christmas tree is 194,672 and was achieved by Kiwanis Malmedy / Haute Fagnes Belgium in Malmedy, Belgium.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most Christmas trees chopped in two minutes: 27 - by Erin Lavoie (USA).
Known for its lavish promotional tie-ups with designers, corporations and celebrities, this year saw the jewellery company working with internationally renowned Japanese flower arrangement artist Shogo Kariyazaki for a one-of-kind Christmas tree.
The Golden Christmas Tree stands at 2.4 metres tall with over 100 golden ribbons, orchids and hearts decorating it.
The Christmas tree will be on display from November 22 through December 25 at the store.
While Ginza Tanaka has no intention of selling the lavish piece of art, other items by the Golden Christmas Tree designer will be on sale for a limited time.
