The Guinness world record for the strongest beer ever sold is "The End of History", which was brewed by BrewDog in Fraserburgh, Scotland and has an alcohol volume of 55%.
Bottles were sold for £500 (US $806) each.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the strongest commercially available beer, set by Schorschbock 43, which is brewed by Schorschbräu, in Oberasbach, Germany, and has an alcohol volume of 43%.
The Utopias is a triple bock with an unusually high alcohol content that was aged for more than a decade in a variety of casks and blended with techniques inspired by whiskey makers.
Some of the blends in the 2012 batch have been aged for 19 years, and the batch was finished in single-use bourbon casks from the Buffalo Trace Distillery to enhance the beer's vanilla and maple notes.

At West Seattle's Super Deli Mart, a renowned specialty beer mart, they've received only two bottles and offered $30 tickets for a tasting of that and six other reserve beers, seattkepi.com reported.
And the 48 tickets for that one-ounce tasting sold out in a day.
Only 15,000 24-ounce bottles of the Utopias are available worldwide, and the next batch isn't expected until 2014.
