  Most national capital cities visited in 24 hours: Barnaby Davies breaks Guinness World Records' record

LONDON, UK -- Mr. Barnaby Davies , a tour guide who lives in Hastings, East Sussex, UK, broke the Guinness World Records' record for the most national capital cities visited within 24 hours; Davies beat the previous world record by one city, visiting London; Paris; Brussels; Ljubljana (Slovenia); Vienna; Bratislava (Slovakia); and Budapest (Hungary), between 12:25 p.m. April 15 and 11:35 p.m. April 16, in 23 hours and 30 minutes total, setting the new world record for the Most national capital cities visited in 24 hours by scheduled transport, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the most national capital cities visited in 24 hours by scheduled transport is 7 and was achieved by Barnaby Davies (UK) who visited London, Paris, Brussels, Ljubljana, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest, on 15-16 April 2014.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most countries visited in one year by scheduled ground transport; it was 133, achieved by Graham Hughes (UK) arriving in Uruguay on 1 January 2009 and finishing in Egypt on 31 December 2009.

   The 39-year-old of St George's Road, journeyed by train from Hastings to London, Paris, and Brussels before flying to Ljubljana in Slovenia. He then travelled by train to Vienna and Bratislava before ending his mammoth trek in Budapest, Hungary.

   Throughout his European trek, Mr Davies, who works as a travel guide, needed to find independent witnesses to sign statements to verify his journey and also video it. His trip took 23 hours and 49 minutes in total.
