The goal of the Peace Paddle was to inspire international action at the upcoming Rio+20 summit to protect the world's oceans from the ever-growing global threats.

The Guinness world record for the most expensive logo produced for an Olympic games is the 2012 London Summer Olympics logo, which cost £400,000 ($645,645) to design. The logo was produced by brand consultants Wolff Olins (UK) and paid for by private money.

Guinness World Records also recognized The largest car logo/image, formed by 1,086 Subaru cars and was displayed at the Prodrive Warwick Test Track, in England, UK.

"Demanding that our leaders create reliable solutions is an important step toward a sustainable ocean future," writes Sarah Chasis, Director of NRDC's Ocean Initiative.

When it comes to protecting our oceans, actions speak louder than words.

That's why hundreds of people joined together at NRDC's Malibu Peace Paddle to raise awareness about the critical problems facing the ocean: once-vibrant coral reefs withering away because of carbon pollution and other threats, plastic trash choking sea animals, and entire ecosystems degraded at an ever-faster rate.

"We need to go beyond good intentions this year and place the focus on action."
