  Largest collection of frogs memorabilia: Thayer Cueter sets world record

Edmonds, WA, USA -- Thayer Cueter, 50, also known as The Frog Lady, who runs a center that takes in those exotic amphibians bought at pet stores and that the owners no longer wants, owns 10,000 frog collectibles, setting the world record for the Largest collection of frogs memorabilia, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the Largest collection of frogs was set by Sheila Crown of Marlborough, Wiltshire, UK, who has a collection of 10,502 frog items.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest frog jump: 1.21 m (3 ft 11.64 in), achieved by Noa Möller (Sweden) at Palatset in Stockhom, Sweden.

  Her 10,000 frog collectibles include an astounding 400 Kermit the Frog toys, 490 plush frog toys and 20 pairs of frog pajamas, each different.

  According to The Seattle Tmes, she says about frogs, the live kind, "They're whimsical, they're cute. It's hard to explain. They're fragile. It's not easy being green."

   Cueter runs an animal-rescue place in Edmonds specializing in ... frogs. She and her volunteers take in those exotic frogs bought at pet stores and that the owners no longer want. The frogs come from warmer climates and would struggle and likely die outdoors in the Northwest.

  The nonprofit Just Frogs Toads Too! Amphibian Center, now has 16 frogs, 11 toads (a subclassification of frogs; toads generally have drier and bumpier skins), as well as 30 turtles, four tortoises, three geckos and a tarantula in its small rental just below the Arnies Restaurant on the Edmonds waterfront.
