World Record Academy awards "Emirates ID" the 2012 International Technology Award

   MIAMI, FL, USA -- Emirates Identity Authoritywon the 2012 International Technology Award, which is awarded by the “World Record Academy” in Miami,  FL, USA.

    Emirates ID won the award after passing the evaluation conducted by the World Record Academy for the authority's technological infrastructure, in appreciation for the for the advancement level of the technological applications used by the authority and the quality of its achievements during 2012, comparing to many governmental institutions around the world.

    H.E Dr. Eng. Ali Mohammed Al Khouri, Director General of Emirates Identity Authority, dedicated the award to H.H Sheikh Khalifa ben Zayed Al Nahyan– may Allah protect him - and to H.H Sheikh Hazza ben Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Consultant, Chairman of Emirates ID, and to H.H Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, Deputy chairman of Emirates ID.

   Dr. Al Khouri considered the Emirates ID winning of the prestigious international award, a culmination to the tireless efforts by the authority over the previous years in line with its 2010-2013 strategic plan, and its diligent quest to achieve its goals, headed by the development of an integrated secured infrastructure that would enable obtaining and exchanging data between governmental institutions in the country.

    Dr. Al Khouri commended the efforts of the work team at the authority which lead to winning this award, and which reflects the authority's keenness on adopting the highest international standards in the field of information technology and security, and its ongoing aspiration towards the development of services that would achieve customer satisfaction, and contribute to the development of the governmental work system in the United Arab Emirates, in line with the comprehensive transfer towards an electronic government by 2014, and achieving the UAE Vision 2021.

     H.E the director general of Emirates ID received the award trophy from Mr. Abdulla Al Kendi , Information Technology Manager at the authority's central operations sector, with the attendance of a number of the sectors and departments managers at the authority's headquarter in Abu Dhabi last Wednesday.

    Emirates ID managed to register an international acknowledgement of owning the world largest data base for the "Integrated" vital electronic public register records, among the population register system for the UAE, and received the certificate which proved achieving a first of its kind world record, with a total of 103 million decimal and circular pints, in addition to the hand-palm and hand-side prints, and over 15 million record for the face print and digital signature, until midday of October 11, 2012.
