  Largest lute ensemble: China sets world record

Liaoyuan, Jilin, China -- 2012 people from the Xian Shun Pipa School and some lute players were from around the world played the eminent "Dance of Golden Snake" to celebrate the Liaoyuan Pipa Art Festival, setting the new world record for the Largest lute ensemble, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the largest guitar ensemble was achieved by 6,346 participants in an event organised by Thanks Jimi Festival, in Wroclaw, Rynek, Poland, on 01 May 2009.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest ukulele ensemble; it consisted of 1,547 participants during an event organised by ABF, Folkuniversitetet and Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan (all Sweden), in Helsingborg, Sweden.

  The participants of the event were from the Xian Shun Pipa School and some lute players were from around the world.

  The world's largest lute ensemble lasted for five minutes and thirty seconds, playing the eminent "Dance of Golden Snake".

  Lute is a musical instrument belonging to the guitar family.

  Liaoyuan is very popular for its amazing lute players throughout the world and is known as "hometown of lute".
