Heaviest cabbage: Scott Robb breaks world record (VIDEO)
PALMER, AK, USA -- During the Alaska State Fair's 17th Annual Giant Cabbage Weigh-Off, a behemoth cabbage grown by Scott Robb of Palmer came in at 138.25 pounds ( more than 10 pounds heavier than the previous record-holder),
setting the new world record for the Heaviest cabbage,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the heaviest cabbage
weighed 57.61 kg (127 lb) and was presented at the Alaska State Fair by Steven Hubacek
(USA) of Wasilla, Alaska, USA.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the heaviest red cabbage; it weighed 19.05 kg (42 lb) and was grown by R. Straw of Staveley, Derbyshire, UK.
The World's Heaviest Cabbage tipped the scales at 138.25 pounds, about 35 pounds heavier than Robb's previous personal record and 11 pounds over the former world record
, also held by an Alaskan.
Robb and his wife Mardie run the Colony Greenhouse in Palmer, Alaska.
Asked afterward how he felt, Robb said he was "blown away. I've been doing it for 21, 22 years and finally I reached the top of the mountain."
The Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman reported that "the cabbage weigh-off is a staple of the Alaska State Fair. The event draws a crowd large enough fill the bleachers and features costumes and poetry."
