Smallest fire station: Goathland fire station sets world record
Goathland, Yorkshire, UK -- Nine volunteers and one vehicle in a North Yorkshire village are based in a 13ft by 20ft stone
garage in Goathland on the North York Moors , setting the world record for the Smallest fire station, according to World Record Academy (www.worldrecordacademy.com).

The previous Guinness world record for the Worst fire disaster - damage toll was set by the fire following the April 18, 1906, San Francisco earthquake in the USA, which costed an estimated US$350 million at the time, equivalent to US$6.862 billion.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Worst single building disaster - death toll, set by a fire at The Theatre, Guangdong (Canton), China, in May 1845, when a total of 1,670 people perished.
The brave men and women — who include a youth worker, a farmer and a salesman — can man the mini-station within four minutes of an alarm being raised.
There they find their fire-fighting Land Rover equipped with tools.
The hardworking team — aged in their 20s and 30s — is equipped and trained to deal with most emergencies, from house fires, to car crashes and blazes on the moors.
