Largest working cell phone-world record set by Cricket

 CHICAGO, USA --Regional carrier Cricket crafted a giant Samsung Messager out of metal, wood, lights- measuring 15 feet wide by 13 feet tall -which sets the world record for the Largest working cell phone .

 The device is a replica of the Samsung Messager phone (pictured) and was built as part of Cricket 's launch in Chicago. ( enlarge photo )

Cricket is a budget cellular service requiring no contracts or credit checks and all plans have unlimited minutes.

 The previous world record for the  largest cell phone was set by Sony/Ericsson W810i. It measured 2.50 x 1.14 x 0.49 m (8.2 x 3.9 x 1.7 ft) and was measured at the MTN Sciencentre in Cape Town, South Africa, on September 20, 2007.
