Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the highest bicycle backflip: 2.8 metres (9 ft 2.23 in), achieved by Ben Wallace (UK).

The chef from the Wagon and Horses pub was taking part in "Wagon's Got Talent" to raise funds for the Eden Rose Coppice appeal.

"It's all about balance and after a while your arms and shoulders ache as you hold the bike steady," said 26-year old Ben, who lives in Constable Road, and enjoys performing bike stunts in his spare time.

"The idea is once you start hopping only the back wheel and no other part of the bike or body must touch the ground," he added.
