Guinness World Records also recognized the longest ever horizontal power slide in a car; it lasted 2 hours 11 min 18 sec and was performed by Simon de Banke (UK).

Mauro Carlodrifted for 8.5 laps around the Mercedes-Benz World perimeter track, travelling 394 metres more than the previous record holder.

Speaking about his drift, Calo said: "The car was so balanced. I was relaxed and only had to make small corrections to the steering and throttle," said Calo.

"Then the tyres let go after lap seven, but I kept on going until I knew I'd beaten the record. I'm absolutely chuffed."

Unfortunately, a tire started to detach from the rim and forced him to stop short of his 12-lap goal.
