Highest jump on a motorcycle-world record set by
Ronnie Renner
CHICAGO, IL, USA -- Freestyle motocross star Ronnie Renner
launched himself an astounding 63 feet
5 inches above the ground
-setting
the new world record for the highest
motorcycle jump off a quarterpipe
.
Photo: He launched himself by riding
up a 22-foot quarter pipe and whipped his 250-pound motorcycle
through a sweeping, 180-degree arc to his left that carried
him upside down and brought him down onto a steel landing
ramp that's 31-feet, 9-inches tall and 64-feet wide.

“It’s been crazy. I’m so pumped to have done it,”
Renner said afterward. “What a killer vibe! All these people
coming out to see me and they were psyched. I could hear the
crowd cheering.”
Renner's highest jump was officially measured
from the top of the 22-foot-tall quarterpipe, as 41 feet 5
inches from the top of the ramp (63 feet 5 inches high, total).
Last
summer, with an amusement park as a backdrop, Renner established
the Guinness world record for the highest
jump on a motorcycle on a quarter pipe
, reaching 59
feet, 2 inches at the Santa Monica pier.
A typical big-air freestyle jump reaches
35ft in height.
