  Most people performing a Thai yogic position: Bangkok breaks Guinness world record (VIDEO)

Bangkok, Thailand -- More than 3,000 people at a Thai Yoga event at Wat Pho in Bangkok have broken the world record for largest number of people performing a synchronised Thai yogic position,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

 The Guinness world record for the longest yoga chain consisted of 255 participants and was achieved by DREAM (TM), a brand of The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. (USA) in Estes Park, Colorado, USA.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the oldest living yoga teacher, set by Ida Herbert, 96, from Canada.

  Bangkok is the capital and the most populous city of Thailand.

   The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometres (605.7 sq mi) in the Chao Phraya River delta in Central Thailand, and has a population of over eight million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population.
  Over fourteen million people (22.2 percent) live within the surrounding Bangkok Metropolitan Region, making Bangkok an extreme primate city, dwarfing Thailand's other urban centres in terms of importance.

  Yoga is a commonly known generic term for physical, mental, and spiritual disciplines which originated in ancient India.

  Long-term yoga practitioners in the United States have reported musculoskeletal and mental health improvements, as well as reduced symptoms of asthma in asthmatics.
