  Most people doing sit-ups simultaneously: Australian high school breaks Guinness World Records record

Williamstown, VIC, Australia -- More than 700 Williamstown High School students did sit ups simultaneously for one minute to break the Guinness World Records world record of 414 people held by a US town and set just last month; the school made the record attempt as part of its centenary celebrations, according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records' record for the most people doing sit-ups simultaneously is 414, at an event organised by Cheryl Lindsay, Founder of Red H.E.A.R.R.T (USA) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina , USA, on 5 February 2015.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people performing push ups; it is 615, and was achieved by R.V College of Engineering (India) in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, on 22 March 2014.

    More than 700 Williamstown High School students did sit ups simultaneously for one minute to break the Guinness World Records world record of 414 people held by a US town and set just last month.

    School principal Gino Catalano said the school community felt confident it had broken the present record, The Leader reports.

   "The event was fantastic with all the students and teachers sitting down in the centre of the oval," he said.
