  Most Nollie Heelflips in one minute: world record set by Jean-marc Johannes (VIDEO)

   CAPE TOWN, South Africa -- International gold medallist and current FISE Am World Series number one skateboarder, Jean-marc Johannesbroke the Guinness World record for the most Nollie Heelflips in one minute with an incredible 14 in 60 seconds, according to the World Record Academy .

Jean-marc Johannes, a South African skateboarder, broke the Guinness World record for most Nollie Heelflips in one minute earlier this week. Faced with the prospect of having to beat the record of eight, the Capetonian effortlessly eclipsed that with an incredible 14 in 60 seconds.

The Guinness World Records world record for the most consecutive kickflips on a skateboard is 1,546 and was achieved by Zach Kral (USA) at 4 Seasons Skate Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, on 30 November 2008.

     Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest coconut wheelie (rail slide) on a skateboard; it is 33 m (108.3 ft) achieved by Per Canguru (Brazil), at Ibirapuera Park, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 23 July 2015.


     Jean-Marc Johannes broke the Guinness World Record in Cape Town for the most Nollie Heelflips in one minute.

    A Nollie Heelflip is when a rider pops the skateboard at the nose end, kicking out the right foot spinning the board and after full rotation lands back on the board.

    Johannes, who is also an international gold medallist and Fise Am World Series number one skateboarder, did 14 Nollie Heelflips in one minute at the Shred Skatepark in the Western Cape.

    He easily passed the previous record which was eight Nollie Heelflips in 60 seconds.

    As an action sports athlete, Johannes is considered one of the top 100 athletes globally. He is the founder of a charity initiative "Fill the gap", which provides motivational speeches and demos at schools internationally and locally.
     He also runs a donation project called "Fill the box", which has collected over 50 pairs of footwear in two months and has been awarded R10 000 by Engen to continue its drive.
