 Longest surfing marathon: Ben Shaw breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

Kure Beach, NC, USA -- Ben Shaw has broken the Guinness World Records' record for the longest consecutive surfing session, at Kure Beach, North Carolina; the passionate surfer rode waves for 29 hours and 10 minutes, setting the new world record for the :ongest surfing marathon, while raising awareness for Ocean Cure, a non-profit organization dedicated to giving free surf lessons to medically fragile and at risk youth and adults, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest parade of kite surfers; it consists of 352 participants and was achieved by Virgin Kitesurfing Armada (UK) at the Best Pro Center in Tarifa, Spain.

  The Guinness World Records' record for the longest surfing marathon lasted 29 hr 1 min and was achieved by Kurtis Loftus (USA) at Jacksonville Beach, Florida, USA, on 26-27 October 2011.

   The passionate surfer rode waves for 29 hours and 10 minutes. He was raising awareness for Ocean Cure, a non-profit organization dedicated to giving free surf lessons to medically fragile and at risk youth and adults, The Surfer Today reported.

   Shaw entered the waters of Kure Beach at 6:30am (30th August, 2014) and kept catching waves until 11:40am (21st August).

  The new world record holder surfed over 300 waves, and always had a cheering support from friends and anonymous citizens that dropped by to say hello and good luck.
