Longest front flip: Robert Souris sets world record (Video)

DAVIE, FL, USA -- Florida stuntman Robert Souris, 28, flipped 19 feet and six inches forward at the Florida Triple Threat All Stars cheerleading gym - setting the new world record for the Longest front flip .

Photo: Robert Souris unofficially set the new world record for a front flip when he covered 19' 6", breaking the old world record by 4 inches.

The Guinness world record for the longest forward jump flip is 5.8 m (19 ft 2 in) by Richard Barnes (USA) at Southlake Gymnastics Academy in Southlake, Texas, USA.

Guinness World Records also recognized the longest 180? on a mountain bike: it measured 3 m (10 ft) by Jim Dechamp (USA) at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, USA.

"Our country is an obese nation," he told NBC News. "It's easy to hit 'A' on a video game controller and make somebody do a flip. It's another whole different experience to go out into the world and do it yourself."

Souris set his record while wearing the blue costume of Zero G, a comic book super hero he created when he was 11.

"Zero G defies gravity and that's what I try to do," said Souris, who set the record at 16 feet last year before a Texan beat him with a 19-foot, 2-inch jump.
