The last Gunness world record for the longest front flip was set at 19-feet, 7-inches held by Hasit Savani of London.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest BMX back flip; it measured 18.94 m (62 ft 2 in) and was completed by Mike Escamilla ("Rooftop") off the Mega Ramp at X Games 11 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

After four attempts, Souris made a jump he was happy with and landed at 19 feet 11 and 7/8 inches.

His jump was measured at 19-feet, 11.5-inches after he hurled his body off the purple mat, propelled himself forward, flipped mid air and stuck the landing.

"I have to execute a summersault, landing on this side over here and I have to stick the landing otherwise it doesn't count," Souris told NBC 6.

Self taught in acrobatics, Souris said he wants to show children what can be achieved from staying fit and active, the News Channel WPTV reported.

"Maybe 10 years down the road it will be someone I trained breaking my record. That'll be the day," said Souris.

When not teaching, entertaining or attempting world records, Souris gets occasional gigs in films.

Recently he was Adam G. Sevani's stunt double for his character "Moose's" in the movie "Step Up Revolution," a movie about dancing set in Miami that's scheduled to be released later this month.
