 Fastest vertical run: Mark Sluszny sets world record (PICS & VIDEO)

BRUSSELS, Belgium -- Extreme sport athlete Mark Sluszny has completed a vertical run down the side of the Belgacom tower in Brussels; he sprinted down the outside of the 102 meter high tower with a time of 15.5 seconds
- setting the new world record for the Fastest 100 metre vertical run, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

  His run down the side of Belgacom tower, shattered the previous world record by 19 seconds.

The Guinness world record for the most vertical feet run in 24 hours was 59,337 ft 7 in (18,086 m) by 11 members of The Reek Challenge at Croagh Patrick in Murrisk, Ireland.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the greatest vertical height ascended by climbing stairs: 18,585 m (60,974 ft 4 in), set by Kurt Hess (Switzerland) who climbed the 45 m Esterli Tower in Lenzburg, Switzerland, and descended by foot 413 times.

  The tower is more than 330 feet high. He did it in 15-and-a-half seconds, which sets a new world record.

  The stuntman, who has already swam across the English Channel, bungee jumped from a balloon and hang glided over the Andes Mountains, broke the record for a vertical run in Belgium.
