 Most underpants worn: Gary Craig breaks world record

LONDON, UK -- Dad-of-Three Gary Craig, 53, from Whitburn, South Tyneside, nicknamed the "Geordie Pantsman" managed to pull on an impressive 302 pairs of underpants at Gypsies Green, South Shields, setting the new world record for the Most underpants worn at one time, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the largest gathering of people wearing only underpants/knickers was achieved by 547 participants at an event organised by the PIL Rally Club (UK) in Weston-on-Trent, Derbyshire, UK .

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest underpants; they measured 20 m (65 ft 7 in) across the waist and 12 m (39 ft 4 in) from waistband to crotch and were presented by Pants to Poverty (UK) in London, UK.

   Gary said: 'It went very, very well and the official number is 302. I wanted to be the first person to put on over 300 pairs and I did it. I think I'm also the first person to hold the world record twice - probably because no one else is daft enough to do it twice.'

  'I wanted to break the world record by so much that if anyone else ever does manage to break it, they will definitely deserve it.'

  Around 1,000 cheering fans saw Gary Craig nicknamed the "Geordie Pantsman" – unofficially reclaim his own record, the Sun reported.

  The 53-year-old had set a previous best of 211 last year, but American Janine Keblish then squeezed into 252 pairs in February.
