  Most people applying facial masks: Taipei breaks Guinness world record

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A total of 1213 people broke the Guinness World Records' record by applying facial masks for 10 minutes at the same time; the previous Guinness world record was 974, and was achieved in Huntington Beach, California, USA; the Taipei event sets the new world record for the Most people applying facial masks, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the most people applying facial masks is 974, and was achieved by SEACRET (USA) in Huntington Beach, California, USA on 26 October 2012.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people applying sunscreen; it is 1,143 and was achieved by Corinda State High School (Australia) in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on 22 June 2012.

  A facial is a procedure involving a variety of skin treatments, including: steam, exfoliation, extraction, creams, lotions, facial masks, peels, and massage.

  They are normally performed in beauty salons but are also a common spa treatment.

  Setting masks include: clay, which is a thicker consistency, and will draw out impurities from the pores; a cream, which stays damp to hydrate the skin; sheet-style, in which a paper mask is dampened with liquid to tone and moisturize the skin; and lastly, a hybrid/clay and cream form that includes small beads for removing dead surface skin cells.
