A typical Missouri acre yields about one fourth that amount. Missouri ranks fifth in the nation for its soybean acreage—with a total of 5.3 million acres harvested last year.
Cullers has set multiple world records for his soybean yields, most recently in 2007, when he got 154.57 bushels per acre.
Governor Jay Nixonvisited Cullers' field in Stark City and presented him with the Governor's Award for Agricultural Achievement, which honors outstanding farmers.

"We applaud Kip on demonstrating the yield potential of today's elite soybean varieties," said Paul E. Schickler, president – Pioneer
Hi-Bred, a DuPont business.
"We're especially proud that Kip used a high-yielding Y Series soybean variety from Pioneer. His achievement shows how genetics and crop management play a role in higher yields."
MachineryLin, one of several companies that partners with the soybean champion, presented the "Crop King" with a more practical honor – an embroidered pair of his trademark overalls.
"We wanted to give him something he could actually use," they said. ( enlarge photo

"95% of all the plant nutrients are in the top 4" of the soil. You've got to have a good root system," explains Cullers. "The thing that helped us the most was by adding the Bio-Forge to our seed treatment. We picked up 5 to 7 bushels with that alone."
Cullers added Stoller
's Bio-Forge® to his seed treatment to establish early seedling vigor and enhance root growth.
This early and robust root development allowed the plants to endure the extreme stress conditions Cullers used to initiate plant branching.
Subsequent foliar applications of Bio-Forge helped to boost the overall plant health and promote root development and nodulation for the entire growing season.
Cullers has been farming for about 20 years; in addition to soybeans, he farms cattle, hay and poultry.
In 2006, Cullers first set a world record by producing 139 bushels per acre with Pioneer® brand variety 94M80. He surpassed that mark the following year with the same Pioneer variety with a yield of 154.57 bushels per acre.
