 Largest stick bomb: Lakeview Library breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

LAKEVIEW, OR, USA -- Teenagers, librarians and the Kinetic King have set a world record at the Lakeview Library; together they set up about 15,000 tongue depressors into one big stick bomb throughout the entire library, setting the new world record for the Largest Stick Bomb, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Record's record for the largest stick bomb consists of 9,911 sticks and was created by MegaHouse Corporation (Japan). It was presented and activated at the International Tokyo Toy Show 2012 in Koto, Tokyo, Japan.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most stickers on a car; it is 10,221 achieved by the Family and Friends of Dr. Maryann Beebe (USA) in Oregon City, Oregon, USA.

   The "Spark a Reaction" summer reading program at the Lakeview Library and Tim Fort, the Kinetic King, detonated a 15,000 tongue depressor stick bomb, setting a world record, The Herald and News reported.

   Stick bombs work in a chain reaction, flipping over one after another in a giant wave.

   Teenagers, librarians and the Kinetic King have set a world record at the Lakeview Library. Together they set up about 15,000 tongue depressors into one big stick bomb throughout the entire library.

  The Lakeview Library stick bomb started in the community room where Fort wove a two-tongue-depressor-deep giant square of 12,900. That alone is enough to bust the current Guinness Book of World Records amount, 9,911, The Hearld and News reported.

  Lake County Superior Court Judge Rob Nichols and Lakeview attorney Jeffrey Hedlund were the official witnesses to the record attempt. They had the important job of watching and verifying all the sticks actually detonated.
