Friday, December 24, 2010 Largest Christmas lights decoration: Sun Plaza set world record BUCHAREST, Romania--The Christmas lights decoration recently lit at Sun Plaza shopping center in Bucharest, with 449,659 light bulbs - set the new world record for the Largest Christmas lights decoration (indoor) . Sun Plaza was opened in February 2010 by EMCT Romania and Sparkassen Immobilien. The World's Largest Christmas lights decoration includes more than 500 lights curtains, as well as 40 Christmas trees with 2,400 leds, along with 120 lights garlands along the escalators in the shopping mall. The Guinness World record for the most lights lit simultaneously on a Christmas tree is 150.000 for the RTL-ChariTree 2006. Guinness World Records also recognized the largest Christmas stocking, which measured 32.56 m (106 ft 9 in) long and 14.97 m (49 ft 1 in) wide (heel to toe) and was made by the Children's Society (UK) in London, UK .
