 First all-diamond ring: Shawish Jewellery sets world record (Video)

GENEVA, Switzerland--Shawish's President and CEO Mohamed Shawesh has created an 150-carat ring carved from a single diamond which is expected to sell for $70 million
, setting the world record for the world's first all-diamond ring, according to World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the most cut diamonds set into one ring is 2,525, in the ring " Tsarevna Swan ". It was created by the Lobortas Classic Jewelry House (Ukraine) and was presented and measured in Kiev, Ukraine .

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest silver ring; it weighs 71.680 kg (158.03 lbs) and has an inner diameter of 85 cn (2 ft 9 in). It consists of 97.83percent pure silver and was created by Amin & Company (Pakistan).

   It took a full year to carve the World's First All-Diamond Ring, which has been copyrighted and is expected to sell for $70 million.

  "A ring made entirely of a faceted diamond has always seemed like a fantasy," said Mohamed Shawish, president of Geneva-based Shawish Jewellery.

 "To create the perfect diamond ring is the epitome of art."

   Shawish said it took a year to get the copyright for the design and then the company had to purchase a special laser to cut the diamond into the perfect circle for the band.
