The Piaggio Ape is a three-wheeled light commercial vehicle first produced in 1948 by Piaggio. More recently, Piaggio have made lifestyle models such as the Ape Cross Country and the Ape Web aimed at the young.

Piaggio Ape Cross 50 , first produced in 2000, is sport-look restyling of preceding Piaggio Ape Web.

“The idea came into my mind from an older passion, one among so many others I had. In the area where I live competitions with “Piaggio Ape Cross” vehicles take place, hence the idea of creating models, but not any kind of small models; I wanted to make something unique in the world, something special, like the smallest model of “Piaggio Ape Cross” .

“I created these models from passion… as there were still small models of this kind in circulation and I wanted to make special ones”.

The Ape is a common sight in Italy where its compact size allows it to navigate narrow city streets and park virtually anywhere. It’s also often seen at the roadside where the load area is used as an impromptu market stall by farmers.

Today, the Ape is built in India under license.

Andrea Andrigetti coordinated the world record attempt for the Largest Polenta .

In the future, Andrew, who works on a farm, has in mind to make a huge omelet and the biggest bee hive.
