  Most Expensive Jersey Cow: Karlie the cow sets world record (VIDEO)

SYRACUSE, N.Y., USA -- A central New York couple's Jersey show cow has been sold at an auction for $170,000; Karlie the dairy cow was bought by Arethusa Farm of Bantam, Conn., during an auction held in Onondaga Hill, just outside Syracuse, setting the new world record for the Most Expensive Jersey Cow, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

 The Guinness world record for the Most milk extracted in two minutes was set by Gunther Wahl (Germany) who extracted 2 litres (3.52 pt) of milk from a cow on the set of Guinness World Records: Die GroBten Weltrekorde in Germany.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Largest collection of cow-related items , set by Denise Tubangui (USA) who has a collection of 2,429 cow-related items.

  The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports that Karlie the dairy cow was bought by Arethusa Farm of Bantam, Conn., during an auction held in Onondaga Hill, just outside Syracuse.

  Karlie, a 3-year-old whose full name is Page-Crest Excitation Karlie, was brought to fame on the show cow circuit by Aaron Eaton, a cow scout of sorts, Rohe said. Eaton is married to Rohe's sister, Caitlin, of Onondaga Hill.

  According to the American Jersey Cattle Association's Jersey Journal, the previous record-high price for a Jersey cow sold at auction was the $92,000 paid for a cow raised in Dutchess County.

  Aaron and Caitlin Eaton of Onondaga Hill were part owners of Karlie, a breeding cow who has had one calf herself and several other offspring born by surrogates.
