  Most people wearing wigs: Angels fans break Guinness world record

ANAHEIM, CA, USA -- The Los Angeles Angels lost to the Astros Saturday night, however it was still a victory for the hometown crowd; in total, 32,682 people were counted wearing the red and white wigs handed out prior to the game for the designated ten minutes, setting the new world record for the Most people wearing rally wigs, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

 The previous Guinness world record for the most people wearing wigs was 12,083 and was achieved by Blatchy's Blues (Australia) at the second game of the State Of Origin rugby league series at ANZ Stadium, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people wearing cowboy hats: 500, organized by Angels Baseball (USA) at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, USA.

  In total, 32,682 people were counted wearing the red and white wigs handed out prior to the game for the designated ten minutes.

  That was more than enough to shatter the previous Guinness world record of 12,083 which had been set by an Australian rugby team.

  During the fifth inning of the game, spectators and ballpark employees donned the artificial hair for 10 consecutive minutes. The headgear was distributed prior to the game as part of a promotion.
