Most people showering simultaneously: Dickson City set world record

DICKSON CITY, PA, USA -- In honor of his late mother, Dorothy Snedeker, Mr. Randy Snedeker decided to gather toghether 161 local residents to shower toghether while raising funds for for St. Jude Hospital , setting the world record for the Most people showering simultaneously (single venue).

  The Guinness world record for the most people showering simultaneously at a single venue was achieved by 145 participants in an event organised by Pert Plus at the Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor in Gurnee, Illinois, USA.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest shower: it measured 30.48 m (100 ft) long, 12.19 m (40 ft) wide, and 3.04 m (10 ft) tall and was manufactured by PertPlus in conjunction with the Chicago firefighters (all USA) .

  According to "The Times Tribue", the idea was the brainchild of Randy Snedeker, who decided to link the attempt with a fundraiser for St. Jude's in honor of his late mother, Dorothy.

  "The world record attempt attempt was made in the back parking lot of McCann Business School, where crews with SSGC and Scotty's Services built a 68-by-86-foot plywood structure that featured shower heads at regular intervals."

  Water was supplied by several firetrucks. To count as a world record, participants must stay in the shower for at least five minutes and lather up using a biodegradable soap donated by Fanciful Fox in Scranton.
