  Most people popping bubble wrap: Oral Roberts University breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)

TULSA, OK, USA -- Oral Roberts University is now the official world record holder for the most number of people popping bubble wrap simultaneously for two minutes; about 1,011 people participated in the popping as part of ORU's "Pop Til You Drop" challenge this past January, setting the new world record for the Most people popping bubble wrap, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the most people popping bubble wrap simultaneously is 1,011 and was achieved by Oral Roberts University (USA) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, on 26 January 2015. Each participant was given their own sheet and popped bubbles continuously for two minutes.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people blowing bubbles simultaneously; it was 34,529 at 198 venues around the UK for an event organized by Flair Plc and Gazillion Bubbles (both UK) on 3 July 2007.

Oral Roberts University (ORU) is now the official world record holder for the most number of people popping bubble wrap simultaneously for two minutes.

   More than 1,100 people participated in the popping as part of ORU's "Pop Til You Drop" challenge this past January.

    They were celebrating Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day. The previous Guinness World Records world record was set last May by 942 people at a Minnesota Elementary School. ORU students used 6,000 square feet of bubble wrap to break the record.

   "As a Christian institution, we believe that academics, faith and fun should all be part of the college experience for our global student body. The Bubble Wrap Challenge created a great sense of community for our students, faculty and staff and was a lot of fun for everyone who attended. Breaking a world record is icing on the cake," said ORU President Dr. William M. Wilson.
