  Most people dressed as cows: Chick-fil-A breaks Guinness world record

FAIRFAX, VA, USA -- 470 people dressed as cows had gathered in one place for five minutes, inside the George Mason University Field House, at the request of Chick-fil-A, smashing the previous Guinness world record of 298 held by Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Simcoe, Ontario, and setting the new world record for the Most people dressed as cows in one place, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

 The Guinness world record for the Largest collection of cow-related items was set by Denise Tubangui (USA) has a collection of 2,429 cow-related items, as of March 2011, which she has collected since 1990.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Largest gathering of people wearing cowboy hats: 500, organized by Angels Baseball (USA) at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, USA.

  The event was organized by operators of the 18 Chick-Fil-A restaurants around Northern Virginia as part of the company's long-running "fearless cows" ad campaign.

  The event took place at the George Mason University Field House at George Mason University. As the Washington Post reported, Chick-fil-A donates $50,000 a year to the school's athletic department.  The company also has a location in a campus food court.

  To be 'counted' as a cow, the fast-food restaurant asked "each participant to wear a one or two piece cow suit with a head piece or decorated hood. All shoes had be black or white to match the cow suit."

  The fast-food restaurants asked all participants to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Capital Area Food Bank.
