  Most people dressed as Spider-Man: Escapade Fancy Dress breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

LONDON, UK -- London costume store Escapade Fancy Dress recruited 398 college students to dress up as Spider-Man and break the Guinness World Records world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as the hero; the event took place at Student Central in Britain as part of the Fresher's Fayre and money from the event was donated to the Help for Heroes armed forces charity, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Spider-Man involved 398 participants, achieved at an event organised by Escapade Fancy Dress (UK) at Student Central in London, UK, on 2 October 2014.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Star Trek characters is 1,063 and was achieved by Media 10 Ltd (UK) at ExCel London, London, UK, on 20 October 2012.

    "We are thoroughly delighted with the outcome of the event," Bhupendra Maisuria, Managing Director of Escapade said.

  "We had an overwhelming number of people come and join in to help set this new record title. It was such a fun evening that supported our student community who all put an astounding effort in to raise awareness for Help for Heroes. I would like to thank everyone involved in the organisation of the night and in particular to all those students who took part. We hope to hold many more events like this in the future."
