 Most People Contributing to the Same Painting Simultaneously - Delaware artists sets world record

  WILMINGTON, DE, USA -- 279 painters, of all ages and artistic abilities, painted for three and a half minutes during an event organized by the Delaware College of Art and Design - setting the new world record for the Most People Contributing to the Same Painting Simultaneously .

 The world record attempt for the Most People Contributing to the Same Painting Simultaneously took place at the Renaissance Centre, located at 405 N. King St., Wilmington. Sponsoring the event were the Renaissance Centre LLC and the Commonwealth Group LTD, as well as Golden Artist Colors Inc.

  The guidelines were few. Paint brushes were a must. No finger painting. Paint for at least three minutes. The Wilmington skyline was suggested as inspiration.

Participants at the event included DCAD students and their families, alumni, board members and members of the Wilmington community. After the attempt, a celebration was held with music by the band Coco Syn and refreshments.

 The previous Guinness world record for the Most People Contributing to the Same Painting Simultaneously was set in 2008 by 152 people in Dusseldorf, Germany .

DCAD is Delaware’s first and only professional art and design school. The college offers the Associate of Fine Arts Degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design and Photography.
    DCAD was founded in 1997 as a collaborative effort between two of America’s most distinguished art schools, Pratt Institute and the Corcoran College of Art + Design.
