 Largest simultaneous flash mob: ViSalus set world record (168 Videos!)

Hollywood, CA, USA--More than 50,000 people in 300 cities across North America broke out in song and dance at the exact same time , setting the world record for the Largest simultaneous flash mob, during an event organized by ViSalus to promote their Body By Vi fitness program and the Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the first notable flashmob occurred in May 2003 at a shop in New York, USA, organised by Bill Wasik (USA).

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest simultaneous dancing game routine; it involved 10,730 participants dancing to 'DJ got us falling in love again' by Usher ft. Pitbull on the Dance Game Central 2 Xbox 360, in an event organised by Starfloor at Palais Omnisports de Bercy, in Paris, France.

  The event was organized by ViSalus to promote their Body By Vi fitness program and the Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake. The multi-level marketing firm relies on networks of sales staff to sell weight loss products.

  Body by Vi, the nationally fitness group, recently received its one-millionth member of their 90-day fitness challenge.
  To celebrate this, the group attempted to break the world record for largest flash mob today.

 Flash mob: People assemble in a public place to perform an unusual act, and then disperse. Whether it's a marketing stunt or to bring attention to an issue, organizers say flash mobs and world record attempts are a new and exciting way to get your message across.

  "We're always been an edgy, cutting edge, mainstream company," co-founder and Wyoming native, Nick Sarnicola, says.

 "We always try to do things that are fun and exciting."

  "It also fits our brand in terms of getting active, exercise, dance, work out, anything," Sarnicola says.

  Alfonso Ribeiro, known for playing "Carlton" on the popular sit-com "Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air," lead the mob in L.A. He helped choreograph the dance performed at the event.

  Since the event took place in hundreds of locations throughout the country, each group had to learn the dance by tape, which was the hardest part according to flash mob member, Gina Deere.
