  Largest shofar ensemble: Whippany breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)


WHIPPANY, NJ, USA -- A total of 1,043 people came together in New Jersey to break the Guinness World Records' record for largest shofar ensemble; participants in the "Great Shofar Blowout" at the Alex Aidekman Family Jewish Community Campus in Whippany blew the shofars together for five minutes, during an event sponsored by the Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life,
setting the new world record for the Largest shofar ensemble, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest shofar ensemble involved 796 participants at an event organized by the Robert I. Lappin Charitable Foundation at Phillip's Beach in Swampscott, Massachusetts, United States.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest air guitar ensemble; it was 2,377 participants, and was organized by San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino (USA) at San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino in Highland, California, USA.


  Participants in the "Great Shofar Blowout" on Sunday at the Alex Aidekman Family Jewish Community Campus in Whippany blew the shofars together for five minutes, NJ.com reported.

   The event was sponsored by the Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life, the identity-building organization of the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest in northern New Jersey.

  The New Jersey group snapped the shofar ensemble record set in Swampscott, Mass., in 2006, when 796 shofar blowers came together on the beach.
