Lindsay raised $450 for the Skin Cancer Foundation through the Redheads and More Redheads day. Above all, she said she was happy to get a redheaded crowd.
?Sammamish is the capital of the United States capital for redheads,? she said.
Anne Lindsay, photographer and chronicler of redheads, is creating a book about natural redheads. She's photographed and interviewed 150 redheads and plans on photographing many more. Lindsay plans to hold the second annualRedheads and More Redheads Dayon July 16, 2011.
She isn?t aiming to set another redheaded world record, unless another group breaks her original record.
Instead, she hopes to break another record ? like the record for the most people applying sunscreen at one time, or the record for the most redheaded dolls in one place.
?All of the dolls would go to Toys for Tots,? Lindsay said, though she said she still isn?t sure which record she wants to break.
In the United States, it is estimated that 2-6% of the population has red hair. This would give the U.S. the largest population of redheads in the world, at 6 to 18 million, compared to approximately 650,000 in Scotland and 420,000 in Ireland.
The event next year will the the Festival. Redheads and More Redheads Daywill be on Saturday, July 16, 2011. It will not only be a gathering of redheads, it will be a festival. Artists, musicians and food will be added to the official photo.
