  Largest human national flag: Russia breaks Guinness  world record (VIDEO)

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia -- A living image of the Russian national flag that 26,904 residents of Vladivostok have formed on the Zolotoy Bridge of the city broke a Guinness world record of Pakistan (24,200 people) and sets the new world record for the Largest human national flag, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

 The previous Guinness world record for the largest human national flag consisted of 24,200 participants and was achieved by members of the public attending the Punjab Youth Festival in the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore, Pakistan, on 21 October 2012.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest human smiley; it was achieved by 3,737 participants organised by ITM University (India) at their annual techno-cultural festival KRONOS 2012 in Gwalior, India.

  A living image of the Russian national flag that 26,904 residents of Vladivostok have formed on Sunday broke a Guinness World Recors' record of Pakistan (24,200 people) for the number of its participants.

  A magnificent flash mob "I Love Vladivostok" began at 14:00 local time (07:00 Moscow time) on the Zolotoy Bridge of the city.

  As many as 12,000 participants in the action have formed the saying "I Love Vladivostok", and about 27,000 Vladivostok residents were keeping high in the hands red, blue and white flags, forming the Russian national flag for five minutes on another part of the bridge.

  A grandiose action on the Zolotoy Bridge of Vladivostok, which was built across the Zolotoy Rog Bay, was dedicated to the Day of the City, which was founded on the Pacific coast of Russia 153 years ago.
