  Largest gathering of people with the same first name: world record set in Kupres (VIDEO)

   KUPRES, Bosnia and Herzegovina -- 2,325 people with the first name Ivan have gathered in the town of Kupres in Bosnia and Herzegovina; the day started with a Mass in the morning, before the gathering of all the Ivans and a procession in the afternoon, thus setting the new world record for the Largest gathering of people with the same first name , according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records world record for the largest gathering of people with the same first name is 1,096 Mohammeds as part of the Dubai Shopping Festival at Creek Park, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 10 February 2005.

     Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest same last name gathering; it involved 1,488 participants with the surname Gallagher at an event held in Letterkenny, Ireland on 9 September 2007.

     The Guinness world record for the largest gathering of people with the same first name is 1,096 Mohammeds as part of the Dubai Shopping Festival at Creek Park in Dubai on 10 February 2005.

    The day started with a Mass in the morning, before the gathering of all the Ivans and a procession in the afternoon. A large number of Ivans from Croatia made the short trip over the border, The Croatia Week reports.

    There was food and drink throughout the day and in the evening concerts from Marko Perkovi? Thompson, Mate Buli? and others. Visitors also had the chance to learn more about the stunning natural beauty and rich culture and tradition of this Bosnian-Herzegovinian region.
