Largest gathering of people wearing cheongsam: world record set in China
BEIJING, China -- A total of 5,599 women wearing qipao dresses set a new World Record for the Largest gathering of people wearing cheongsam at a qipao show in Siping city, Northeast China's Jilin province, according to the World Record Academy
.

Qipao, a traditional Chinese dress, is usually connected with feminine images of nobleness and elegance.
Siping is well known as the hometown of the qipao and the show created a colorful scene in the city.
The previous world record for the largest gathering of people wearing cheongsam was 3,011 participants, achieved by Liupanshui Plum Blossom Mountain Eco-culture Tourism Development Co., Ltd. (China) in Liupanshui, Guizhou, China on 29 July 2016.
