  Largest floating human peace sign: Jordan breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)

JORDAN VALLEY, Jordan -- Some 262 volunteers from resorts on Jordan's Dead Sea beaches, took part in a successful attempt to break the Guinness World Records world record for the largest floating human chain formed in shape of Peace sign; the volunteers had to remain floating for nearly 10 minutes as part of the challenge, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the Largest human logo / image was set by a total of 34,309 people organized by Realizar Eventos Especias, who gathered at the National Stadium of Jamor, Lisbon, Portugal, to create the Portuguese logo for Euro2004, as part of the successful Portuguese bid to UEFA to hold the European football championships in 2004.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest human awareness ribbon; it was formed by 6,847 participants at an event organised by the National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists (India) at New Grain Market in Karnal, India, on 2 April 2012.

   Some 262 volunteers from resorts on Jordan's Dead Sea beaches, took part in a successful attempt to break Guinness World Records' record for the largest floating human chain formed in shape of Peace sign.

   "Having the activity in the Dead Sea contributes to promoting Jordan across the world," said Hisham al Abadi, representative of Jordan's Tourism ministry at the event.

   The Dead Sea Jordan is lowest point on the face of the earth, 412 meters below sea level and is the second main attraction in the Hashemite Kingdom after the rock city of Petra.
