Students shook yellow and blue cowbells for two minutes, shattering Switzerland's 2009 record of 640 participants.

The Guinness world record for the largest cowbell ensemble involved 640 participants, in an event organised by Künstlerhaus Boswil (Switzerland) in Boswil, Switzwerland.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Largest cow bell, made by Venter-Glocken; it is 3.28 m (10 ft 9 in) tall and weighs 920 kg (2,028 lb) and was unveiled in the village community square of Kleinschmalkalden, Germany.

Toronto based folk-rock band SEAM lead the crowd through the 1976 Blue Oyster Cult hit "Don't Fear the Reaper."

In previous years, Ryerson unofficially beat the world record for largest maracas ensemble and largest plastic sword fight.
