 Largest Samba Dance: Krohn Conservatory sets world record (Video)

CINCINNATI, OH, USA -- To celebrate the opening of the "Butterflies of Brazil" show, Krohn Conservatory assembled 300 people on Fountain Square for a lunchtime "Samba on the Square"- setting the new world record for the Largest Samba Dance .

  The previous Guinness world record for the largest samba dance was 250.

The Guinness world record for the Largest mambo dancewas set by a total of 3,868 people who danced to Pérez Prado's Mambo No. 5 for five minutes on 19 October 2000 at Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona, Spain.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the The largest salsa danceworld record, set by 451 couples and organised by Jose Perez and Tjapko Smits (both Venezuela) at the Caracas Hilton Hotel, in Caracas, Venezuela.

  Participants were asked to wear blue, yellow or green - the colors of Brazil - in order to meet costume requirements.

  Jeremy Mainous, owner of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Blue Ash, led the dance sequence.
