Largest Can-Can dance-world record set by Irn Bru

 GLASGOW, Scotland, UK -- 1,800 IRN-BRU lovers from around the globe danced at the Can Can Gathering-setting the world record for the Largest Can-Can dance .

   Organizers said nearly 10,000 people participated in the Largest Can-Can dance but only 1,800 managed to comply with the mandatory 5-minute nonstop dance.

   Can Clan Chieftain Robin Barr, 71, may have stepped down in June after 50 years running the business, but he reckoned the event was a real winner. He said: "This is fantastic. What a response we've had. "Can-can dancing is hot stuff so we've laid on free Irn-Bru for everyone. "I retired in June, but I've never been busier. "The can-can appeal has been great."

 Robin Barr, who oversaw the Can Clan for IRN-BRU , praised the festival as a success and cheered participants for setting the world record for the Largest Can-Can dance .

   " IRN-BRU Can Clan has captured the imagination of Scots from all over the country, even reaching other parts of the world such as Australia where people have signed up to be part of the Clan," he said. "I'm delighted that so many thousands have come together today for what can only be described as a phenomenal celebration and a record of which we can all be extremely proud."
