  Fastest time to reach 1 million followers: Caitlyn Jenner breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA -- Former Olympic decathlon gold-medallist Caitlyn Jenner , previously known as Bruce Jenner, has smashed another world record by becoming the fastest person on Twitter to reach one million followers; Jenner's verified account announced itself with a tweeted picture of the star's Vanity Fair cover; the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took just four hours and three minutes to reach the milestone,
according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records' record for the most re-tweeted message on Twitter is "If only Bradley's arm was longer. Best photo ever. #oscars" by Ellen DeGeneres (USA), which exceeded 1 million re-tweets in little over an hour. The record was confirmed by Twitter on 3 March 2014.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most mentions of a brand name on Twitter in 24 hours; it is 3,710,044, achieved by Ezaki Glico Co., Ltd. (Japan) and their biscuit stick Pocky on 11 November 2013. The word "Pocky", which is a name of a biscuit stick product of Ezaki Glico Co., Ltd., was mentioned in Japanese on Twitter as part of their Pocky day celebrations, that take place annually on 11 November.

    The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star joined Twitter on June 1st to reveal the first pictures from an upcoming Vanity Fair shoot.

     The previous Guinness World Records world record was set by US president Barack Obama on May 18 at just over five hours.

     Jenner's verified account @Caitlyn_Jenner announced itself with a tweeted picture of the star's Vanity Fair cover. The magazine features the full debut of her new name Caitlyn, following Jenner's male-to-female transition.

     Jenner features in the reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians as the step-parent of Kim Kardashian and the former husband of Kris Kardashian, and has gained widespread praise for her open approach to transition, particularly in a tell-all segment with confessional US TV-host Diane Sawyer," The Guardian reports.

     The Vanity Fair piece features photographs shot by Annie Leibovitz and includes Jenner in a number of haut couture outfits, as well as an in-depth interview with Jenner about her coming out as a woman.
