  Oldest Man: Yasutaro Koide breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)

NAGOYA, Japan--Yasutaro Koide, a 112-year-old living in the central Japanese city of Nagoya was born on March 13, 1903; he became the oldest man with the death of Sakari Momoi of Tokyo in July at age 112, according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records' record for the Oldest person ever was set by Jeanne Louise Calment (France). Born on 21 February 1875 to Nicolas (1837 - 1931) and Marguerite (neé Gilles 1838 - 1924), Jeanne died at a nursing home in Arles, southern France on 4 August 1997.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the oldest person ever (male); it was set by Jiroemon Kimura (Japan), who was born on 19 April 1897 and died aged 116 years 54 days when he died on 12 June 2013.

     Koide was born on March 13, 1903, and worked as a tailor. He became the oldest man with the death of Sakari Momoi of Tokyo in July at age 112.

     "The best thing is to not overdo," Koide said. He also recommended not smoking or drinking and said his favorite food is bread.

    Koike also recommends "enjoying everything," according to local reports that say he can read the newspaper without glasses.

     The newspaper Chunichi Shimbun quoted a granddaughter, Aya Kikuchi, as saying her grandfather once tended to be very strict about manners. "He was very stubborn, but he got nicer with age," she said. "His lifestyle is one that avoids stress."

    The world's oldest person is Susannah Mushatt Jones of Brooklyn, New York.
