  Northernmost rugby match: Children's charity sets world record (VIDEO)

Magnetic North Pole -- Two teams of rugby players have set a new world record by playing the most Northernmost game at the Magnetic North Pole; the teams, led by former England internationals Ollie Phillips and Tim Stimpson, trekked across the Arctic icecap and set up a pitch for the game; it was to raise money for the children's charity Wooden Spoon,
according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest rugby scrum consists of 1,008 participants at an event organized by England Rugby 2015 (UK) at Twickenham Stadium, London, UK, on 12 September 2014.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most rugby passes by a team in one hour; it is 2,336 and was achieved by Maccabi GB Junior Rugby Squad (UK) at Allianz Park, London, UK, on 16 June 2013.

    Two teams of rugby players have set a new record by playing the most Northernmost game at the Magnetic North Pole.

   The teams, led by former England internationals Ollie Phillips and Tim Stimpson, trekked across the Arctic icecap and set up a pitch for the game. It was to raise money for the children's charity Wooden Spoon.

    As required by Guinness World Records, posts were erected and the perimeter of the pitch was measured and marked all to World Rugby regulations.

   The teams were captained by former England international rugby stars Tim Stimpson and Ollie Phillips, with Tim's team coming out on top 17-14 in a closely contested match.
